Where The Light Gets In features Pianist Extraordinaire Mike del Ferro and Singer and Songwriter Jeremy Olivier. This is Mike del Ferro’s second album at NativeDSD Music – following his 2020 Album of the Year Skylark , also from Sound Liaison.
On this album, Olivier and del Ferro are really coming into their own. It features beautiful newly arranged covers of songs such as Message in a Bottle (The Police), which later in the song turns into Somewhere Over The Rainbow , Anthem (Leonard Cohen) and Crazy Love (Van Morrison).
Olivier makes these songs completely his own. With a small line-up and often only an acoustic guitar and the minimalist piano accompaniment by his talented pianist Mike del Ferro, you quickly think of Jason Mraz, Raul Midón, and Ed Sheeran.
Recorded in the legendary MCO Studio 2 in Hilversum, Sound Liaison uses the finest equipment the industry has to offer in order not to lose a drop of the moment’s purity and authenticity. The original Stereo DXD recording was Analog mixed and mastered to 15 inch/s Analog Tape for some “added mojo”.
It is a deeply emotional yet well balanced set, superbly well recorded. Where The Light Gets In captures the essence of Jeremy Oliver. This intimate masterpiece is a worthy addition to any audiophile collection.
